The Canyon of River Wolves is located on the separation from the Iberian mountain range with the high plateau of Duero.
A natural paradise molded by water and stone in Soria, Canyon of River Lobos
It begins at the municipality of of Burgos, Hontoria del Pinar and extends to over 25 miles to the town of Soria Ucero, very close to the Picos de Urbion and the black lagoons.
The Wolf River has dissolved the limestone to form whimsical shapes with vertical walls tens of meters in height upholstered in rock vegetation.
The park of Canyon of River Wolves also embraces the pine groves, savin forest and beautiful scrublands in with varied fauna.
All this set was declared a Natural Park in 1985, being one of the first protected areas in Castilla y León.
To all this wonder of nature is added the important artistic heritage, towns and villages with a marked traditional look.
Between these jewelery stands out the Templar church of San Bartolomé, built in the XIII century.
The best way to discover all the charms of the Canyon of River Wolves is on foot , in this respect, the Canyon of River Wolves is very well marked for the practice of trekking.
There are several routes signposted with different colors and various leisure and recreational areas.
