The Weather in Vitoria-Gasteiz
The old town center of Gazteiz is painted of colored across the Route of Urban Murals. On this route a total of thirteen murals are visited, each of them most stunning with its own name and meaning. The whole work forms a beautiful mosaic which should be contemplated carefully as they are real works of art.

Graffiti City, Route of the Urban Murals
This initiative of the Route of Urban Murals is born of the coordinated work of the Chistina y Verónica Werckmeister, californians established in Gazteiz, together with Itinerary Muralistico of Vitoria-Gasteiz (IMVG), with the collaboration of the the Brigades of Brotxa, the first program which offers summer employment to young people between 16 and 20 years and also with the collaboration of selfless volunteers and contributors.
Since 2007, the project of the Itinerary Muralístico of Vitoria-Gasteiz (IMVG), has managed to fill color the aged ones facades of the historic center of the town, allowing the citizens that can enjoy this outdoor art.
For the realization of the murals is necessary to develop previous workshops,where the artists get together to look for ideas on how to create the mural, this lasts two weeks, at the end of these two weeks, the group has designed a sketch of how it will work, and how they are going to carry out.
When is time to paint the sketch on the wall, the artists work eight hours a day, volunteers have a flexible schedule, but are asked for a minimum of 8 hours a week. Anyone can participate without having artistic knowledge. When the murals are ended, the participants organise a party in the neighborhood as inauguration.
Each murals has its own history, its meaning and its secrets. Each has been painted by volunteer citizens of different ages, with different professions or different backgrounds.

For all those people who want to discover a world of stories “along ground” in the form of murals that decorate the historic center of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the route of the murals has guided tours. These guided tours last about an hour and a half, with a minimum of 6 people per visit and € 5 per person.
