The Transporter Bridge of Portugalete was the first ferry bridge built in the world of metal structure.

The principal activity of the Transporter Bridge is the transport of passengers and vehicles between the two sides of the river. The service operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. The rates are set by the Port Authority of Bilbao.
